Since starting out small in 1943, Nyhart has remained steadfast in its commitment to being a family-owned business as it grows, and that image drives their brand and their principles. Even today, as employees own the company through their stock options, Nyhart still refers to each office and treats each employee as “family.”

Because of their rapid growth, Nyhart struggled with cohesively branding the company culture principle of family while experiencing nationwide expansion and adding new offices. Additionally, Nyhart was revolutionizing its business and starting to think more forwardly when it came to the public's stale, stereotypical view of accountants, actuaries and attorneys.

Because of the traditional nature of their business, “we are more conservative and looked upon as boring,” said Nyhart's CFO Lisa Hague. “When we designed our Indianapolis office, it was really important for us to be modern, hip and to have a different culture about us. We are very client-focused but it's important for us to think outside of the box.”

The clear solution for Nyhart was to develop a Furniture Standards program for their company. In their San Diego office, we optimized 4,450 square feet using a blend of neutral tones, pops of revitalizing color such as orange and green, sleek modern lighting installations, and a bold but simple reception area.
